American Apparel Partners With eBay

American Apparel signs up with eBay to make an online store within auction web site because of the high demand for its products in the site. The companies didn’t want to disclose the terms of their deal. American Apparel CEO and founder Dov Charney said that eBay gets a lot of searches for American Apparel each month. These users are not buying directly from the clothing company. ebay store

American Apparel said that the online store will roll out in September. It hopes to be a multi-million dollar company within its first year on eBay. Orders placed on the site will be fulfilled by the company’s Los Angeles factory. Its lineup will include t-shirts, hoodies, jeans, and children’s clothing.

Earlier this month American Apparel was told by the NYSE Amex Exchange that its board is violating some listing rules. Some of its board members have left the company and have appointed others to their place. But the company’s audit committee only has two members when it is required to have three. The company’s board also has an unequal number of directors of various classifications. American Apparel has until July 2012 to comply with the regulations and the company said that it would abide as soon as possible.
